Pickup - 6/7 (Composting Saves lives!)

Today we collected 155.8 pounds of compost this week. This week we also added two new households, so hopefully we will collect even more compost than usual next week! In addition, we saved a turtle from the middle of the road during todays pickup! Composting saves lives!! We have also started transferring the pile that has finished composting into a large black container in the hopes that it will get so hot in the sun that any unwanted insects or bacteria will be killed. This process takes a while but we are hoping that soon enough we will be able to give the participating households finished compost.
