Another successful pickup today! Today we saved a total of 102.4 pounds of kitchen scraps from landfill. We added the scraps, as well as leaves to the pile that we made on Saturday. The experiment seems to be successful so far as the piles temperature has been steadily increasing. We also covered the pile with plastic to prevent hot air from escaping. We also found a pumpkin in the middle of the road which we added to the pile!!
Just a reminder, please refrain from putting plastic - labels/bags/etc in your compost, thank you so much!
