Happy Holidays Composters! Today was quite a frigid day composting. While not many people were around due to the holidays, we still managed to collect a solid 161.2 pounds of scraps. The snowfall last night made for quite a difficult but fun trip up the hill, with Mariam taking several slips and falls sending her tumbling down the hill. Her pants were ruined and I regret to say they did not survive the journey. Despite the cold weather, the piles are still very warm and cooking that compost into the beautiful black gold we love.
This past year we collected over 9000 pounds which is 2000 pounds more than the previous year. This is fantastic news as it means we are on track to collect 10,000 pounds next year. This is amazing and will be a huge milestone.
