After a month-long break, GCP is very happy to be back in action.
This week, we collected an impressive 219.4 lbs of kitchen scraps, bringing our total diverted from landfill to 21,129.9 lbs and our estimated landfill space saved to 17.61 cubic yards.
We have also restarted our solarization program, with 5 bags of finished compost currently undergoing treatment. It feels great to have the scraps coming in, the piles active again, and the solarization box back at work.

GCP also seems to be spreading far beyond Greenwich. This month, people from 11 different countries visited our website, including Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Canada, France, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the Netherlands.
And no, those international visitors were not simply us checking the website while traveling — when these figures were recorded, the Netherlands was the only one of those countries we had actually visited!
It is amazing to think that people around the world are now viewing a small neighborhood composting project. Whether they are experienced composters, curious beginners, or people simply looking for ideas, we hope they find something useful and inspiring on the site.
It is great to be back — collecting locally, composting enthusiastically, and apparently reaching globally!
