Quiet but still active!

Although we have not blogged the last few weeks, work at GCP continues!  Since our last post we have collected 456.3lbs of food scraps, keeping them out of landfill in favor of transforming to black gold!

We also passed another exciting milestone: over 17 cubic yards of waste diverted from landfill. That is about the volume of a small bedroom full of food scraps, which is pretty amazing to picture.

In other GCP news, Western Middle School student Laila McQueen asked if GCP could donate compost for her capstone project: a pollinator garden. We were so happy to help, and even happier to receive some lovely photos of Laila with her garden. It is such a fantastic capstone idea, and we hope the garden is a huge success. We are excited to follow its progress and donate more compost whenever it is required.

Thank you, as always, to everyone who keeps saving scraps and supporting the project.
